Santosh Kumar Kalwar is a PhD Candidate at the Lappeenranta University of Technology, Lappeenranta, Finland. His research area is Human Computer Interaction, might be better defined as computer science inspired from psychology and sociology. He holds Master of Science in Information Technology degree from Lappeenranta University of Technology and Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Acharya Insititue of Technology; Bangalore, India affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. His research has examined human anxiety on the Internet, service front-end for reducing human anxiety on Internet and understanding human behavior on the Internet. He is keenly interested in solving real world problems such as anxiety, stress and psychological disorders with the help of technology.
Dr. Kari Hekkinen advises him, and Professor Jari Porras supervises his research. He is a member of IEEE. He has worked as a trainee at the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) at Nokia, Helsinki, Finland. The team worked on the idea to develop messaging-based services designed for millions of users. The principal research question was "how service concepts and technologies can scale up without a prohibitive increase in investment?" Nevertheless, he has also taught as an assistant lecturer at Khowpa Engineering College, Kathmandu for about one semester.
