Personal Statement

23 years of learning technology research and counting. Googlism says on one hand (flatteringly) "Stephen Heppell is ICT" but on the other hand "stephen heppell is director of ultralab" but I am not.. I now head up the radical new group Learn3K in Dublin trying to build learning for this millennium, rather than the past one.

ICT Interests

From putting Prestel and Telecom Gold together to make Campus, through CD-ROMs in the late 80's (Renaissance project) to Schools-Online, Tesco SchoolNet 2000, designing Scoop which became Think.com, to Talking Heads, Virtual Heads, eTui meta-level learning toy, Notschool, the virtaul school for thoise excluded from school..and much more, too much for 100 words though...

Recent Projects

I was part of the original design team for Think.com - Bob Rogers and I are its parents! For current work and projects, including sailing, start at www.heppell.net
