MirandaNet Fellowship Profiles (MirandaNet Archive - as of March 2015)
I am at the moment head of one of the so called "lesson houses" of our school. In fact that means that I am the head of a department of the school and responsible for about 417 students. Furthermore I manage the teachers in my department. I studied theology and informatics and followed a two year course in didactics and pedagogic skills. I developed a course for teachers about teaching in a digital environment, more specifically I will try to link Web 2.0 items and didactics. I hope to encourage our teachers to use these modern social media in order to strengthen their teaching skills and let them use more active learning skills in their lessons.
Furthermore I write articles in a magazine called COS (computers in schools). These articles mostly contain ICT subjects in combination with ethics and didactics. As result of that I sometimes give workshops in symposia and conferences.
I studied business informational science (as well as theology). As result of that I was the ICT coordinator of my school for about eight years. At that time our school was one of the leading schools in the field of using ICT in a educational environment. A report of the way we did this can be found in: "Ernist ICT school portraits", a book of European School Net, may 2004. The portrait of our school is also presented at the website of the European Schoolnet (EUN) at http://schoolportraits.eun.org.
I developed a course on "digital didactics 2.0". I hope to bring together social media and classroom reaching in a way the teachers are challenged to use these social media in their daily practice.
I am member of a workgroup for the introducing of social media in ourschool
