Personal Statement

Personal Statement

I am Geeta Rajan, Global Co-ordinator, St.Mark's Sr. Sec. Public School, Meera Bagh, New Delhi. I teach English to grade 11 and 12 students.

Teaching has never been a job for me. It is my passion (very cliche...) Teaching is the elixir of my life. I cannot survive without my students. I enjoy every aspect of teaching and love to experiment with all the facets of teaching. I hate the monotony of anything hence I love to think about all the innovations that can be done in teaching. Before the advent of technology, I had this dream of taking my teaching beyond the four walls of a classroom.

I must admit that technology has helped me immensely in fulfilling my dream. Using ICT tools has benefitted my teaching,my overall development and my personal and professional growth. True, there are those risk factors when it comes to using technology in education but see the positive side... There are plenty of pluses. Teaching becomes exciting, it becomes experimental and for students, learning becomes thrilling experience. And when students say they love the thrill of learning lessons, that is the ultimate accomplishment for a teacher like me.
