Heidi Saarinen

In my teaching area, particularly Interior Architecture and Design, I am keen to use ICT, blogs, video, online sources and interactivity, as teaching tools, and to encourage students to develop good all round ICT and interactive skills - and to be aware of the potential and innovation that is out there. I have collaborated on e-learning projects with colleagues in South Africa and plan further e-learning collaborations with other international connections.

I have set up pilot 'e-learning' projects/demonstration videos for design education, particularly useful to underpin learning and teaching and can be further developed for online teaching, I also have experience in this area.

My research interest: Performative film and the Construction of Place - dance based exploration of space and place/community - is connected to film, recording, editing, interacting and showcasing - via a range of media including low- to high tech tools. I collaborated on an interactive performance, disDance 11054.80) in remote locations, connected via online/live links (Remote Encounters conference Cardiff 2013 http://remote-encounters.tumblr.com and Liminalities publication http://liminalities.net/10-1/).
