Personal Statement

Personal Statement

I am currently Director of the charity icould, which I helped establish in 2008.  icould provides a modern approach to careers information and support, giving inspiration to young people and adults online through icould.com and a range of social networking sites.  I have over 25 years experience of working within education and the health sector at local and national level.  I trained and worked as a teacher in a state comprehensive school, developed my career within health education and community health in Bristol and London, before moving into widening participation, leadership and talent management.  I have degrees from King Alfred’s College (now University of Winchester) and Southampton University and I am a fellow of the RSA.

At icould, we are passionate about supporting students and young adults in developing their understanding of the world of work and how they can develop and manage their own career pathways.  We are leaders in creating and distributing personalised video stories as a means of sharing career insight, linking this with written content, hard data such as Labour Market Information and sign-posting other sources of support and help.   We are interested in developing our use of video storytelling and information sharing further, linking this with other media, technologies and online applications.
