Personal Statement

Personal Statement

I am an IT teacher and IT professional who now works in the field of eLearning and Mobile Learning. I′m infatuated with learning and trying to keep up to date with changes in technology. Passionate about trying to help my colleagues use technology to enhance their learning and introduce them to new ideas in teaching. I am also currently three quarters through my MSc in eLearning technology and hope to further specialise in eLearning for Assistive Technology in the future.

I am a girl geek who loves gadgets with a drawer full of old ones that I can′t seem to throw away to prove it. I have an inquisitive mind which is useful in the world of technology and the field of eLearning. I have a long standing interest in distance learning which has impacted on my career and study choices. I am an avid fan of RSS, VLEs and MOOCs and Kickstarter projects.

I′m always trying to learn new skills and am currently teaching myself to Sew, learn ruby on rails and updating my programming skills in that order. It′s a work in progress as am I.
