Personal Statement

Personal Statement

I am a Head of Modern Languages with 20 years experience in teaching.  I have always seen the benefit of using technology to enhance what I do in the classroom and to ensure that the learning experience for pupils is a meaningful one.  Current technologies have impacted greatly on what I do in the classroom as they have opened up teaching practices in general.  I believe that different teaching methodologies are now more accessible and achievable because of digital technology.  The other great bonus is that teachers are now more easily able to share and collaborate via social media such as blogs and twitter (you will find me @basnettj).

I am currently studying for an MA in Digital Technologies for Language Teaching at Nottingham University (Distance Learning) and loving connecting what I do in the classroom and in my job to the relevant theories.
