Personal Statement

Personal Statement

I have done my Bachelor in Commerce and have completed 12 courses in Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. Even though I love Accounting, becoming a teacher was a dream. Finally a couple of years back I convinced myself to switch to teaching. I am a Class Teacher of class 4, teaching English, Social Studies, Science and Mathematics for almost 5 years.

My role as a teacher is to design, plan and implement projects appropriate for my class level, keeping in mind the curriculum targets of the term. It is my responsibility to select age appropriate ICT tools to support teaching and learning in my class.

I work at Beaconhouse School System, Discovery Centre. It is a branch that follows Project Based Learning (PBL).  All levels complete 4-5 projects a year, using ICT integrated lessons. Each class has 15+ learners with computer and learner ratio being 2-3:1

My learners are 9 to 10 year olds studying in class 4. My class has 12 boys and 5 girls. Most of them have access to the Internet, iPads and gaming consoles at home. As English is the 3rd language for majority of my learners, they face difficulty in reading and writing.
