MirandaNet Fellowship Profiles (MirandaNet Archive - as of March 2015)
I am an English for Academic Purposes and Study Skills tutor as well as the TELT Officer at School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Glasgow. My day-to-day job involves helping students and colleagues make an effective use of technology in learning and teaching processes. One of my experimental projects was Digital English - a course allowing international students to learn about themselves, academia and digital literacies.
I am also an online teacher trainer at the International House Online Teacher Training Institute tutoring on the Certificate in Online Tutoring course. Apart from teaching and training, I am a student - currently at the dissertation stage (MSc in Digital Education at University of Edinburgh). My dissertation looks into students' perceptions of multimodal assignments.
I am a keen advocate of innovation and creativity in language teaching and learning and professional development. Special areas of interest include learner’s autonomy, online course/activity design, multimodal approaches to writing and opportunities learning technologies offer for stimulating creativity and ‘will to learn’.
I am looking for opportunities to network with like-minded colleagues, share my experience and knowledge with them and if possible collaborate on projects.
