Personal Statement

Educated at King George V Grammar School, Southport and later at Manchester University where I obtained a degree in Chemistry. I am now a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry. On qualifying I stayed on at Manchester University to complete my PGCE in Science and Maths. After a year teaching in Mexico City, I took up a post at Standish Community High School in Wigan, teaching Science and Maths across the age and ability range. In 1995 I moved to Bishop Rawstorne CE Language College where after a spell as Second in Department I was promoted to Head of Science. For the past 5 years I have been involved with online companies specialising in educational content. I have had responsibility for the content on SamLearning.com and I continue to work closely with graphic designers and programmers.
