Director of ICT at Cheam Hawtreys

I teach children from 7-13 on the computers and am trying to persuade my colleagues to use the facilities. The French and English departments are makeing good use of the computers and the Science department does its own thing. The pre-prep use the computers with the 4-6 year olds.

I am also involved with SATIPS (an association of prep school teachers) as the ICT Conference Organiser and with the ISEB (Independent Schools Examination Board) for testing ICT capability at the ages of 11+ and 13+.

At the beginning of 1999 I started using a new computer suite at the school consisting of twenty NC machines networked using RISC OS with the option of adding Windows at later date if I really have to! I have a RISC server for the applications, an NT4 server for user files and a Novell server for Internet and Email. I like to make things difficult for myself!
