Personal Statement

Aston Swann has been developing ICT learning material for 20 years,  in the last ten years we have concentrated in developing IT skills 'learning in context' programmes for teachers and students in the secondary sector. We adopted the e-skills and ECDL standard for all our products.  Our courseware was found to be helpful by many teachers, during NOF process, who wanted to know how to use IT as a tool for teaching and learning in the classroom. Subsequent learners have had their IT skills recognised with a vocational qualification.  Aston Swann's ECDL/ICDL Education Courseware is now an international ICT learning programme used by teachers, and students, in many schools throughout the world. It is available in Arabic and other translations are being considered. Wendy Swann contributed to IT Standards groups from their early inception when they were first developed by ITITO and IT-NTO which eventually became e-skills UK. This knowledge is reflected in the structure and development of this 'learning in context' courseware.

Recent Projects

We are just launching our third ECDL/ICDL product with ECDL Syllabus version 5. This again focuses on the school community.  I am shortly to visit Cairo and Dubai to progress the Arabic translations.  Should you be interested in the UK product, please have a look at our website  www.educatorsecdl.com for more information on how this courseware fits into the school curriculum, comparisons with GCSE IT, performance indicator points and UCAS points.
