Piet Rodenhuis - Deceased

Personal Statement

It is with great sadness that MirandaNet has heard of the death of Piet Rodenhuis on 27th December 2014. Piet was an active MirandaNet Fellow who joined us in 2005, and there are still several items from him on the site. MirandaNet extends its deepest condolences to his wife Janny.

My interest is ICT in school started when the first computer arrived into my classroom. From Philips P2000, Zenith, Acorn B, Archimedes we arrived in the Windows era.

From the initial drill & practice it developed to a situation where children were able to learn in a more interactive way, using the computer as a window to the world and to knowledge.

It is now especially thrilling to see what new media are entering education and what possibilities there might be.

ICT Interests

My initial interest was ICT and communication. I am now more focussed on exploring the ways in which new media may help children to learn.

An interesting project is now the use of new media in early language learning.
