Personal Statement
I graduated in 2006 from Brighton University. I started my teaching career in East Sussex as a teacher of ICT in a secondary school. Whilst working in the school it became apparent that ICTs were not being used throughout the school due to a lack of teacher knowledge/understanding.
I have a great interest in education and the way in which ICTs can make an impact on education accross the curriculum. With this interest in mind I have run several core professional development courses promoting the use of ICT in several curriculum areas.
ICT Interests
KS3
I am interested in promoting the use of ICTs accross the curriculum, in a range of subjects. I am part of an integrated curriculum focus group at my current school, where we are putting together a curriculum for the future year 7 intake.
KS4
Whilst in East Sussex I had the opportunity to use a range of ICTs to help promote education, in an exciting and creative way, to a small group of pupils who were on the verge of permanent exclusion from the school. Using ICT to help pupils gain confidence in their own ability is another area that I have a strong interest.
