Personal Statement

Educated to higher degree level, I have worked for 30 years in the public sector. The last ten were as Headteacher in a large primary school with a special unit. I have developed the use of ICT on PC and Mac platforms, developing cross curricular ways of extending the curriculum through excellence and enjoyment. I am now developing my work as an education consultant and keen to share learning through the use of ICT. I am also working with international foundation students for a multinational education provider.

ICT Interests

The breadth of learning experience is enhanced by the use of ICT systems. Young learners today have technology at their fingertips and can visualize possibilities of only a handful of years ago. Exciting ways of developing speaking and listening in primary schools through podcasting and website creation supported by imaging techniques extends the curriculum in a wonderful way.

I have had the privilege to have worked with children with learning difficulties who have flourished by using these technologies and demonstrated real achievements as opposed to raw score attainment of a testing regime. This has been brave in a climate of accountability against narrow criteria... but successful!
