Personal Statement

I have been teaching Humanities subjects (Caribbean Studies, Geography and Social Studies) for over 13 years at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School.  For the last 3 years I served as Head of Humanities Department.  I served in the executive of the Anguilla Teachers' Union for 9 years, first as General Secretary and then as President.  I also served as island representative on a number of regional and local panels and boards to include:

Social Studies Subject Panel Member

Assistant Examiner (Social Studies)

Member of SEC and Council of Caribbean Examinations Council

Member of the Communications Committee of Caribbean Union of Teachers

Member of the Education Advisory Board (local)

I have particular interests in Continuing Professional Development, Virtual Learning Environments in lower education and online social networking. I believe that teachers through the use of various tools can provide a rich resource base as a form of continuing professional development through collaboration.

ICT Interests

I have experence in a wide range of ICT tools.

Recent Projects

In May 2008 I established a regional network for teachers across the Caribbean.  It can be found at  I also run a local VLE for my island  It is hoped that this will be migrated into an open education initiative for the island.
